Who you are dealing with
Typing Optional is a product of High5 Labs LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company, 4030 Wake Forest Road, Ste 349, Raleigh, NC 27609. Where these terms say we or us, that is who it means.
Using this website
The site is here to describe the product and to take an email address from anyone who wants to hear when it is for sale. Use it for that.
The demonstration on the home page runs in your browser. It borrows your browser's own speech recognition, which is a different engine from the one the app uses, so what it produces is an illustration of the cleanup rules rather than a measurement of the product. The page says so where the demonstration is.
The site is provided as it is. We keep it accurate and we do not guarantee it is available at any given moment.
The early access list
Giving us your address signs you up for word about the launch and the price, and nothing else. It is not an order, it does not reserve anything, and it does not oblige you to buy. You can leave the list at any time.
The commitment attached to the list is that the people on it pay less at launch than people who arrive afterward. The price is not decided, so no figure appears here.
The app, when it is sold
Typing Optional is not on sale. When it is, it will be sold as a subscription, and the terms of that subscription will be published here before anything is charged to anybody. Nothing on this page is an offer to sell.
Two things about the product are settled and are worth stating now, because they shape what the terms can say. The app requires macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon. And it runs on your machine, which means we cannot see your dictations, cannot recover them for you, and cannot lose them for you either.
Ownership
The name Typing Optional, the mark, the design of this site and the app itself belong to High5 Labs LLC. Text you dictate belongs to you, and it never reaches us.
Changes
These terms will change as the product gets closer to sale. The date at the top says when they last did. If a change matters to anyone on the early access list, that list hears about it.
