The guarantee

Typing Optional is $8 a month or $50 a year, and every charge, the first one and each renewal, comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. Ask within 14 days of a charge and you get that charge back in full. You do not need a reason, and we will not argue with you about it.

How to request one

Write to support@typingoptional.com from the address you used at checkout, or include your order number, which is on the receipt Paddle emailed you. That is all we need.

That receipt came from Paddle, our payment provider, and you can reach their buyer support directly at paddle.net with the same order number. Either route works and both end in the same refund.

How it is processed

Orders for Typing Optional are handled by Paddle, the merchant of record for your purchase, so the refund is issued by Paddle to your original payment method. Once it is issued, most banks post it within 5 to 10 business days.

Canceling is not a refund

Canceling stops the next charge and keeps the app dictating until the end of the period you already paid for: nothing comes back, and nothing is taken away early. You can cancel any time with Manage Subscription on the License pane or the link on your Paddle receipt. A refund is the other thing: the charge comes back, and the subscription ends with it.

Your subscription after a refund

A refunded charge ends the subscription and the license key that came with it. Typing Optional goes back to how it was before you subscribed, with your history and your dictionary untouched, and stops dictating until a subscription is active again. You can subscribe again at any time.

Try it before you subscribe

The 14-day trial is the whole app, with no card required. It exists so that by the time you pay you already know whether Typing Optional fits, which settles most refund questions before they start.
